Question

does anyone know if a landlord is responsible for the firewalls in a preexisting commercial space?

The space was a take out pizza place before, but has been empty for 2 years. The landlord had kept on gas and electric through the vacant duration. The air conditioning was actually on when I first looked at the space. I don't know if that falls under a partially inhabited space.

Do you mean is the landlord responsible for the installation of firewalls? That would depend on the building code at the time it was built. Many commercial buildings are shells on the interior and finished to the tenants specifications. You need to check with your local building department. realtor.sailor
