Legal requirements to start a clothing store?
I want to open a small boutique which I will run myself. I intend to buy clothing/shoes/purses/accessories in bulk from wholesale stores and then sell them individually at a higher price to make a profit. Since the places I'm planning on buying from offer really good deals when buying in bulk, I am able to make sure I don't overprice the items. So that's my plan. My question is... What are the legal aspects of starting a brand new business? Such as all the insurance requirements, tax requirements, permits, licenses, copyrights/trademarks? And how do I go about getting these requirements? I have no idea where to start with this legal stuff. I want everything to be perfectly legit and I want to be covered if someone tries to sue me for something. I want to be abiding with all state and federal laws.. but I don't even know what some of them are in regards to owning a business. Secondly, what if I just had an online store? Are the requirements the same? If not, what are the differences? Thanks!

I was also in the same boat. I had all of these legal questions about opening up my own wholesale clothing store. My sister sold me this Pre Paid Legal membership for businesses and it totally helped me. For like a low cost fee I was able to call my provider law firm and get the information I needed to open up my clothing store.
