Question
Living in and around Richmond, VA?
I am relocating to Richmond from Northern, Va. I am looking for a nice, clean, safe neighborhood. I would like to be close to shopping, restaurants, major highways. There seems to be so many different parts to Richmond I am having a hard time figuring out which part has nice but affordable homes. I would like to live in a newer section of town. Does Richmond have any communities with nice homes, shopping, dining, and convenient to major highways. Neighborhoods like I am describing are a dime a dozen in Northern VA (the cost is incredibly high though) but I haven't really seen anything like this in Richmond. Since Richmond has a lower cost of living I would think I should be able to find a really nice home at a great price. I would prefer to spend less than 200k.

A really great area, for the price you are looking is the Woodlake area off 360 (Hull St. Rd.). You can get a lot of house down there for cheap, and the shopping around there is brand new, very nice. Now, it's a good 30 minute commute to the city, which is important to me. I live more around the Bon Air area, but you couldn't get a huge house for $200K. Sounds like that may be the place for you. Good luck!
