I am starting a business and need answers to mailing out brochures...what is acceptable for USPS?

Can I print a brochure on a plain piece of paper, fold in 3 sections, label with address, stamp, and send?

Yes, that size is okay to use. Make sure you buy some clear or white tabs to secure it shut. Also make sure to use two of them not just one in the center. Staples can cause problems at the post office, and the reason you use two tabs is to keep the corners from getting stuck and messed up by lifting. I am going to try some more info for you, I will be back... =)
