Non Profit Organization?
Hei I am from Europe and doing some work for non profit organizations. I would like to know whether a certain non profit organization actually exists. It is said that it is registered in the District of Columbia. We are doubtful. I have visited the D.C. official website and there are tons of instruction on how to register a non profit organizationa ... but no register of existing non profit organization. Do I have to go through an attorney to check whether these people are really what they say they are? Thanks anyone who can help me

Have you tried Googling the name of the organization? Try contacting the Chamber of Commerce in the town the organization is based in. What type of non-for-profit is it? See if there is a state or national association for that type.
