Question
Urgent help with business cards!?
I bought this perforated business card paper from staples, and on the packaging there is a website address to download templates. Well its not really going according to plan, I cant insert a graphic and then type over it, I cant figure out a way to put lines and stuff on my card, basically all I can figure out is to type the business name and all the info. WOW! That will grab people attention! lmao I really need to figure this out and quick, I need the business cards for tomorrow morning. I know I know, I should leave things till last minute, but I wasnt aware I would need them until earlier today. Im using microsoft word, and im trying to use a template, but still running into the same problems (cant type over graphic, etc). And here is the link to the website where I was using the downloaded template. www ... Thanks so much for any help :) Also cant figure out how to fill the entire card with a color!

I use the site below. It is set up for their business cards but as long as they are standard size business cards it should work for you. Just open a free account and choose your style and print. Their site prints through your printer.

Well unfortunately whatever "wow" element you find for your card is going to be negated by the fact that you used perforated paper. It signals to your prospective client that you are either too cheap to take care of your own business image in a professional manner, or you are just starting out, and likely inexperienced. Not real promising for a prospective client. I realize you may not have many other options right at the moment, but I would just encourage you not to depend on these home-made cards for very long. As soon as you are able, I would get highly professional cards made....thick and glossy. Good Luck to you! I do have some business card building ideas on my personal site. I hope they can help you as well. www.doranpeck.com ....regarding color to the edge...you probably can't do that with the preperfed paper because to accomplish that effect you must design your card on a bigger format, then trim the card down to the correct size.
