I want to move to another city...but how?? HELP!!?

Hi everyone! I am 24, single, live in Queens, NY, and work part time in a job I hate!!! And I don't like New York City anymore. I've never moved before. I feel like I'm wasting my life here. I graduated 2007 BA in Environmental Studies at a local college. I want to be a laboratory technician at environmental/chemical testing companies. The last interview I had was in Oct, and they said in Nov that they are on a hiring freeze. I cold call other companies and they are not hiring. I want to move to Philadelphia! I want a job there! I've never moved before... I've been reading advice on Yahoo answers (to pass the boring time at work). So I know the steps: apply, interview and say I will relocate, get job.... and then what?? I think I'll get a roommate... but how?? And most importantly, how much will all this cost?? I don't have a lot of cash, but I do have credit cards. Any advice? I even buy books on this subject but they assumed that I already know how to move... Please help, thanks. the part time I work at is remotely related to my major, like a subsection but I don't wanna do it anymore
