Question
Chair 1, chair 2, how do you inventory?
I have to do an inventory of the furniture in our office. It’s not a huge amount of furniture but I was wondering how or what way to create a code for the items I have to inventory. I created a spread sheet that has details like manufacture, model or style numbers, size/measurements, colour and lease start/end dates – and many more details. I need to affix a label to each piece with a code that I can use to cross reference with my data base but did not want to do something like “chair 1, chair 2, chair 3…” Is there a system already out there that I can copy? Do any of you have a suggestions?

John is correct Staples has inventory tags and you make them up for each item there is on the list of need to be inventoried. Inventory all the closets first, then move from the enclosed spaces to the actual open rooms. You do the same thing with the entire warehouse, it's inventory and all the equip./ brooms/ trash cans/ pallets/ dollies replacement fluorescent bulbs and the usable inventory (copy paper, computer paper, T.P. can liners soap, towels, tissues front door mat and flag.
