Question

Help selling an item on ebay?

Would I be able to sell a laptop with a cracked screen on ebay? The computer is fine (besides the screen, of course), but I would like to sell it for the people who need computer parts, such as the battery, etc. Would I be able to do this?

Yes, you definitely could use ebay to make a little money off of your broken laptop. However, because ebay is now charging 12%, I would look in to using a site called ebid.net It is just like ebay, but has a lot smaller fees. With ebay charging 12%, if your broken laptop sells for $100, they are going take $12 from you for using their site. Then they require paypal to be used for payment, and that will charge you another 5%. Paypal is owned by ebay, so ebay is essentially charging you 17%. Ebay also encourages you to offer free shipping, so if you offer the free shipping, that will cost you another $15 to $20. So basically you would be down to $70 on something that someone paid $100 for. I highly recommend you check out ebid.net as it will probably save you quite a bit of money.

You have to be sure that you list exactally what's wrong with it, tell the damage, show pictures, and say what you think it will be useful with. I wouldn't put a high price on something like that, but tell people that they can use if for the parts... Just saying, it probs wont sell.
