When will a pending charge on my credit card clear?
I ordered a leather jacket for my motorcycle online on 9/15/08 and they were out of stock on that item so I canceled the order. They had already charged my credit card so it is a pending charge and the merchant I bought it from emailed me saying the pending charge will go away within 24 hours but it didn't yet. I want to order the jacket on another website but my available credit on my credit card is not enough to cover it due to the pending charge. Will I be able to order the jacket or not due to the fact that I don't have enough credit right now and when will the pending charge go away?

It depends on the bank. It sucks because they're so quick to take your money away but you usually have to wait a while to get it back. I used to work for visa/mastercard (can't speak on American Express or Discover) and it usually takes 7-10 business days for you to get your refund back. On the 10th day (not including some saturdays and all sundays) if you still haven't recieved your refund call the company back or your merchant and COMPLAIN!

The company could have given you a credit already but it does take up to 2 weeks to post to your account. Sorry, there is no way around it.
