ok, so i live in texas (with my parents). but am going to be moving to indiana, closer to some close family. im terrified to move out and not be able to make it on my own. i mean right now i pretty much pay for everything on my own. as far as food, car, insurance, gas, etc. so as far as moving out i need to know if there are any additional costs that im leaving out.. basically ive got. MONTHLY: -rent -car payment -insurance -food -electricity -phone -cable -internet -and gas. i dont think i left anything out there. ONE TIME - apartment deposit - electricity deposit and im pretty sure im leaving something out there as well. im not really an experianced mover so please please help me out! thank you guys.

What about water? And you could also set aside a little for entertainment for when you decide to go out to eat, movies, etc. And there might be a parking fee at your apartment complex too. Just make sure you have enough set aside for life's little surprises, like your car needing maintenance, or you needing clothes for your job, etc. Good luck!

That's cool. It seems like you're preparing yourself well. A lot of people don't realize how expensive it is to buy cleaning supplies, start a kitchen and a bathroom, and get everything you'll need to be comfortable. I know you'll be fine. Just don't worry too much and think about what is most important and what is not important. Good luck!

Are you going to have to buy any appliances? Who is doing your laundry? Are you going to a laundromat? They cost dearly. Do you have a tool set for minor repairs? You'll need one. Just basic tools would do. Don't forget to stash some for car repairs and new clothes, medicine and doctor's visits if you get sick. Always keep a little on hand in savings not to be touched unless there is a true emergency. And I don't mean going out to a fancy place with your significant other for a birthday. I mean real emergencies, such as an illness, a trip back home if a parent gets really ill, someone slashes all four tires, etc. Good luck. It's a big step but you can do it!

Don't forget about the moving expense itself and setting up a place with curtains, towels, sheets, trash can, and all of the little things that add up. Look around you at the things you can and cannot live without and put them in your budget. Make sure you know the difference between car insurance in texas and the same coverage in the new place. Set aside extra for emergencies. So many things vary from state to state like the cost of bread, of utilities, of rents, etc. It's better to have too much than not enough. Oh, and what about phone deposit??? gas (heat) if needed??? cable deposit???

I think it is easy to straight out your personal problem of moving from Texas to Indiana. Do it one at a time and one by one. I did move around Canada, US, and Saudi Arabia in the past twenty five years. Take your time and to manage well on your personal belongings of those can take and move with you, all the money involved matters are ensure paid and claimed as necessary.

good for you, i think you got most of it and the extras we added on. why i like to do is write out a check list, prior and one after, which could be updated. u may forget something, but make sure the big things you have down forwarding address names, numbers, address of friends, business address, name of companies worked for, prior tax info, notify your bank, credit card etc. think u said that just relax and have fun, since you know some people that is going to help u. bye
