Question
Ebay Business Sellers?
According to a recent announcement by ebay you need to register as a business by 20th July (tomorrow) or you lose your powerseller status. Can anyone tell me what affect registering has a business on ebay has with the local council planning laws? In order to run a buisness from your home you need to inform the local council who will then charge you rates based on the business , also do you need to register with the tax office for VAT? What will happen if you register on ebay as a business but don't inform the council and they find out? can they backdate any rates owed? can you be fined? or even end up in prison?

The formalities are simple. Register as a business with the local authorities and vat office. Both are required to be considered as a business. You don't go to jail. It will only considered as an economic offense. You will have to pay penalty to tax offices not to ebay. Ebay will only degrade you as a power seller to down.
