Well if you get a paypal payment you had better ship it to their confirmed address or they could get their money returned and you would be out. It sounds pretty cut and paste, but it could be legit. I'd tell him to give a phone number you could call him at, then ask him to pay with a money order and see what he says. If it's a scam he's not going to want to give a phone number unless it's an untraceable cell or something. You could take all the money out of paypal so he couldn't take it back. The problem with that is paypal will go after your credit if they get stuck. I probably wouldn't touch this one.

Sounds like a scam. But, if he puts the money in your Paypal before you ship it, I don't see what there is to lose.

Check PayPal's TOS regarding scams. I believe they have scam protection up to a certain amount, so PayPal should be safe. Money orders are EASY to fake! It happens all the time. I wouldn't accept any money orders from overseas, checks, or anything but cash, and PayPal IF PayPal has scam protection. This is probably one of those Nigerian scam things where he wants to send a money order for $3,000, and have you send him the difference after you cash it. Don't do it.

Fake, without a doubt. I don't think PayPal's seller protection is all it is cracked up to be. It would be dumb to play along with an obvious scam. Think about it, the "buyer" would have to be quite the idiot to offer you double your asking price to send the thing overseas sight unseen.

Yup, it's a scam. Nobody's going to pay you more than you are asking for an item. Ignore it.

I don't trust anyone who can't spell the name of their own state.

In addition to all the great answers above, I have this: It sounds fake. . .he's too "proper" in his inquiry and that makes me suspcious of him. Then he offers you double your asking price - WHY? He is obviously wants to tempt you for some reason. He asks you to ship it overseas without seeing it himself and making sure it works first - weird. The whole thing just stinks. You need to politely decline his offer.
