website development costs?
Hi All, How much do you think it would cost to create (ie, get a web developer to do it) a website with approximately 40 pages of linked web pages with no images except the logo with a back end database to store all user account and password details, as well as details of stock count, customer feedback details, etc etc with the usual account creation/password forget/new user regstration facilities as well as a system administration panel (for things like changing price of stock etc etc) and website usage processes with email workflow (so for example, when a customer makes an order a confirmation email is sent). Also the website would have to link to the Paypal service. Obviously the project would need to perform well on the internet, allow multi user usage and be secure. Ball park figures are ok as well as any real life examples from web developers of what they actually charge as I have no idea what the 'going' rates could be. Thx in advance, K

About $2000 for barebones design, and much more for the complex stuff. You have a ton of applets and features listed there that aren't as simple as they look.

some time ago, last year, i made a similar enquiry with a local e business company that set up e commerce sites for you and was quoted about £14,000 all inclusive. It is my guess that figures vary and you may find it at a better rate if u shop around. all the best

I could probably do it for around £7k ($14k) ex vat depending on the exact specifications, and it would take 2-3 months. That would include designing and building the site and the features required, security testing and SEO. I'm freelance, so I have lower overheads. An established firm would charge two-three times as much for the same service. You'll also need a server (if you don't have one) which will cost anything from £50 per month, plus maintainance of the site if necessary. Email me if I can help.

my fella does all that, when he comes home i will ask him for you.. (he's very high tech and works along with banks/police sites.. is that secure enough?) ..i will re edit later.. good luck xx
