Question

Realtor not working for me and what I want!?

I have been working with someone from almost a year now. my agent keeps bringing me people that have had bankruptcies and leans on their homes! Plus he keeps bringing me people that want to rent. In the Begining of June my realtor told me that he had someone that wanted to rent my home with the option to buy. It seemed like a go. So I started packing. I asked my realtor when I would receive monies for my security and rent. He told me that the people would pay me the day they moved in?. I told him that was unacceptable and that I need $ up front. He came up with every excuse you could possiblity think of for them not to have to pay me. I told him that the deal was off! (i'm in no position to move out of my home with NO $ upfront) Then I look online to see that my realtor took my home off of the market for a month! I have a contract till sept. I want to drop him but the contract says I can't. What should I do? please any idea's appreciated! thanks I neglected to mention that my realtor owns his own company he's the head honcho), and I have 4 more months on my contract with him.

Call the offices Broker and tell them what is going on, explain you feel your agen tis not working for you and for your needs, the broker is basically the person that ownes the office the Realtor works out of, they may be able to 1 let you out of your contract or 2 assign you a different Realtor. You other option is to call your local dept of consumer protection and complain about the specific agent but personally I would start with the broker 1st.

You should be able to break the contract due to "breach of contract," which basically means the realtor is not following thru on their end of the deal. They are not fulfilling their aspect of the contract. Also, there should be a way to break the contract if you give written notification within so many days. The contract cannot be binding indefinitely. I'd check the fine print a little closer -- I'm sure you'll be able to come up with some way to break the contract.

Your mistake was in signing a one year contract. Wait it out.
