Question

How to use paypal?

I'm looking to sell something on craigslist and the best way to get the money would be PayPal. So I went ahead and made an account. Now heres my Question. When everything is settled what do I ask for and how do I get paid. I have never done any sort of PayPal transaction with other people were I get paid. And is there anyway of doing this without getting ripped off. eg: I give them my item and they don't pay. or cancel or whatever.

You send the other person a request for money via email. One problem with using paypal for local delivery is that you don't have online proof the product was delivered. If the person wants to claim they never received the item they can file a charge back and paypal will ask you for online proof of delivery. If you can not provide this the customer will receiver their money back. If you are sending an item through the mail, make sure you purchase delivery confirmation to avoid any problems.

While I haven't used Paypal in awhile I think it requires the other person to have an account as well. So you can send requests for money (once you know their name) to them directly. Stipulate that you won't send/sell the item until you receive payment. If it's expensive or a service, ask for half the payment now, the other half when the task is completed. Hope this helps,
