Question
Ebay: Why are sellers refusing to ship to Italy?
No, I'm not in Italy, but I've seen this one more than one e-store page and I'm really curious about what the problem is. Does anyone know why they aren't shipping there? Is there a customs problem, or a currency issue? TIA

I remembered seeing the text below on an item I recently bought: .................................................................................................... Note #1: Italy has restrictions on dutiable goods on 1st Class Mail International. I would have to ship using Priority Mail International. With my handling cost, this would start at $26. If you really want the item, have excellent feedback, and are willing to pay that cost, let me know before you bid if I really can ship the item there (some items are prohibited). Note #2: Brazil has restrictions on dutiable goods on 1st Class Mail International. There are also issues with import licenses and bans on used goods. Sorry, no shipments to Brazil ...................................................................................... SO.....There you have it. It is the authorities that are interfering.

Italy doesn't exist anymore. The whole country disappeared and they are trying to find it again.

Items shipped to Italy take a long time to clear customs, if they ever make it through. Unless you ship via global express which is very expensive, you will not have online proof of delivery. There have been a large number of charge backs from Italian customers based on items not received.
