"Nigeria" is the key - it's a scam. He can't buy it through ebay because they're on to him and they've restrictedhis account, so he's gone through as a guest. The Paypal payment was made with a stolen credit card number - it'll be reversed in a couple of days - that's why he wants you to ship it now. Just sit on it for a week, then you'll see where the payment has been taken out. Do NOT ship under any circumstances, no matter what he threatens.

Seems weird definitely! I would have also expected his son to have an address at an army base or something. I'd let the guy know you will ship the item when the payment has cleared through your paypal and watch your paypal carefully for when this happened. As long as you get the money first you can't be being scammed. God knows what's going on with the buyer though - sounds weird. And I assume you still have the auction going? Be careful as selling something you've listed on ebay outside ebay could be contravene ebay terms as you are effectively skipping your ebay payment.

sounds like a scam.. nobody gives such waffle when just wanting to buy something... give him some waffle back .. tell him that you will have a friend who works for Interpol to deliver the phone free of charge .. but he will not be in Nigeria UNTIL after the money is in your account for the phone... don't risk it EDIT : also .. check for his phone number in international listings .. BET that address isn't real.....

Steven Williams No 4 Molusi Street Molete, Ibadan,Oyo State, Nigeria 23402 Do you seriously have a doubt about this being a scam? I haven't really red what you wrote, but you don't need to read all this to tell this is a con. I bet the paypal account is stolen, if you do send the item, you have no protection from Paypal, they will just take the money out as soon as the owner notices the transaction and reports it.

It sounds like they're trying to avoid the verification system on eBay for some reason, but if the money is in your account, contact PayPal and ask them if the transaction is from a known user. Otherwise, why would the guy send you $1000 when you haven't even agreed to send him the phone yet?
