Question
I am not a coffee drinker, but I live in the Seattle area.?
Where Starbucks is headquartered, and where there are more coffee shops than any other city in the country, (so I have been told!) What do you think about the previous assertion by Starbucks that they wanted 10,000 stores world wide! And today, they annonunced that they were closing 800 stores in the USA! What do you think happened to their grand plan? I understand they are ruthless in their business dealings. I heard about a coffee shop that lost their lease because Starbucks went to the owner of the building and undercut the other coffee store. I would say that if they are losing money, then maybe their business practices are to blame! What do you think?

I think Starbucks expanded too quickly and now they have to close some stores. Its not about their business dealings (i dont think its ruthless either) They might have overestimated the demand.

close the stores that aren't doing well, open them in a better location.

Hmmm? That is an interesting question. Maybe the 800 stores will be sent to the guys that answers all the service calls, maybe we are fortunate the "Lattea" may help them to speak better English.
