YES they are trying to scam you!. Anytime anyone anywhere offers to send you MORE than you are asking for -- especially if they claim to be living in another country -- it's a scam. They'll send you a phony check or money order, you will deposit that phony check and send them back some REAL money, the bank will then discover that the check you deposited was fake and come after YOU for the money back, but you've already sent some of it to the scammer -- who has now disappeared. It's a very well known scam. Delete the e-mails they sent you and don't respond to any more.

Scam! Don't do it. Ignore them. Do not give them anymore information. Any time someone offers to send you a lot more money than you are asking for, it's a scam.

Yes! Unfortunately scams like these have become very popular. My husband and I were trying to sell our truck and had a similar offer. They offered $2500 above what we asked for and wanted to rest of the money wired back to them. Only accept the amount agreed upon. What is happening is the scammers are making fake money order's/cashier's checks that pass deposit. By the time it is caught to be non sufficient funds, you've already sent them the money they wanted, and you are responsible for paying the bank back. Many people have been caught by this....

Sounds like the overpayment scam. They're trying to get you to send them £1900, basically. They'll send you a fake cheque that looks real, and you'll deposit it. Against that balance you send the remaining £1900 to the "nanny." At some point later, they're original cheque bounces and you're stuck holding the bag.

definetly is, do not give them any information

ABSOLUTELY a scam - do not fall for it. There is no reason they could not send the money directly to the nanny instead of through you.

Tell them that you do not accept checks. However, they can Wire the money direct to your local Western Union office to your attention. See what they say.................
