Question

starting a mom and pop tax business?

every accounting major i knows want to work big 4 and become a partner or controller of a fortune 500 company. but i think i'll be happier starting my own small tax business because i like doing individual taxes, working on my own time, and interacting one on one with smaller clients. what career path should i undertake? will i learn the skills working at a big 4 or small regional company? h&r block? irs?

I would go th h& r block since they are "stable" Once your satisfied You've learned everthing about "running a business" such as controling your secretary to avoid stolen time... then you can see if you would be able to start a business.
