Before even considering hiring someone to build you a custom website, make sure that you have an SEO consultant to ensure that your website has a high PR (Page Rank) on Google, Yahoo and MSN. We are reminded of the fact that search engines are the Yellow Pages of the Internet. Unfortunately, there are far too many websites that rely on "branding" of a domain name instead of simple effective SEO metatag placement. Good luck!

If you want to make a website similar to fathead.com then you might want to hire someone. You obviously don't want to do that. I would go a try out wordrpess (it's free) see if you can build something that would be useful. But since you probably want to implement Ecommerce on your site then it is recommended that you use a professional. But that is just my opinion based on past experiences.

You're not going to get a website like fathead.com using a cheap website builder. Fathead.com was a custom job done by professionals. Websites like this cost thousands of dollars to program and even more money to market. I think you know that. While going the cheap route may save you money, the site won't compare to a custom site done by a professional. Many people fail to realize if you want a custom ecommerce website and have no web design skills you are going to have to hire someone.

Do you want to have a site that looks like www.fathead.com or is in the same niche as www.fathead.com? Do you want to sell that type of merchandise? You don't need to hire someone to do that although it may not look as snazzy as fathead. You can always get started on your own and then hire a professional once it gets off the ground.
