I'm assuming you're already qualified to wax people, or have done a course or something. If not, that'll be your first step. Then, you need an area of your home that will be used exclusively for your business. This is so you can keep your business and private life separate, and you'll look more professional. If you're in the US, you can also deduct this room as a business liability. Try to investigate prices of supplies (wax, spatulas, etc) and also other overhead charges. Because you'll be working from home, you don't need to pay for a shopfront, but you'll need things like books to keep track of customers and sales, advertising and business cards, outfitting for the room that you'll be working in, etc. For advertising, think of who your clients will eventually be. What kind of people would require your services? Then think further about them, where can you find these people? If you're going to sell your services to ladies who have young children, having a few cards at a childcare place wouldn't hurt. More so, there are tons of books out there who will give you helpful hints and tips for starting up your own business. They mostly focus on small businesses such as the one you've mentioned. I think there's a 'starting a small business' for dummies even. Hope that helped. :)
