Question
Thinking of opening a fitness center franchise? I am 25,have the means and know-how to do it, just wanted?
to get some feed-back on if this is a good idea, or will it consume me. I'm looking to run a business that will allow me to 'own' mulitple locations, but put the proper managers in place to run from day to day. I've been 'told' gyms are that type of a place. Any previous owners out there?

You won't be able to be an absentee-owner for quite some time, but it's totally possible in a couple of years. It takes a while to assemble of group of managers who are not only competent, but also trustworthy, share your values, and will run the clubs like you want them run. If you're gone all the time you eventually lose control of the environment and your occasional presence is actually received as a sort of intrusion on the operation. You have to be there as much as you can -- it is yours, after all.

It will not only consume your time and effort but if it not done carefully it will also consume your money. Have you tried other avenues?
