Can a private club serve wine without a license?

Gift shop has Wine Tastings. due to a licensing problem --city councils fault-- we will no longer be able to do that. if we change to a private club can we still have wine tastings?

A beer & wine liscense is only a couple hundred dollars (maybe $250). You should have one to protect yourself.

License is required for beer, wine or alcohol. It doesn;t matter whether club or business. Even Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, VFW, etc all have license.

I believe in some states you can serve customers free beer or wine without a license. You just can't charge them for it.

The answer depends on what state your in. My sister in-law has a salon here in Florida and she has always served her clients wine and champagne. bare in mind that she does not charge for it or else she would have to go through licensing. I would contact your local chamber of commerce. I'm more than sure they would be able to help you.
