shopping cart software
Question
I want to build a merchant website. What's the best way?
I want to sell t-shirts, posters, and comic books and related collectibles. Should I use a service that provides templates and shopping carts? Is there software I can buy that will provide me with a template? Should I build the HTML from scratch? Should I allow shoppers to use Papal? CC Bill? Any other preferred payment method? What are some of the perils and pitfalls?

There are several hosting options out there. There are many web hosts that also provide templates and shopping carts. You can even find software for website templates. I think that the most important thing that you can study and focus on is building content that is valuable and will help you to receive natural traffic form the search engines. If you are looking for assistance in web design, there are several web hosts that offer guidance. I would strongly recommend that you take a look at several. First compare feature-by-feature then dollar-for-dollar. This will ensure that you get the best fit for you and the most for your money. I did just that and found the best fit for me. You can take a look at the one that I chose as one of your options. www ... BEST WISHES!

Have you considered selling those items through affiliate programs? The very best means would still be with a website you developed, but the advantage is that you don't have to carry any inventory, and so you are free to earn from anywhere, without being tied down. If you are a retailer already, then a website is still the way to go, because you can develop local and international traffic and sales. in the resources box I've listed a link to some free books that can walk you through the affiliate or retailing models.
