Question
getting over the fear... and just doing it!?
I really want to set up my own business, but am not sure how I go about doing it. Like how do I go about getting th finance I need? How do I find out what laws and regulations I will need to adhere to? How do I go about finding premises/shop front? Other than the obvious lack of knowledge - of knowing HOW to do it, I also have this 'fear' of making the first steps towards it, cause I just really don't know how to go about making it happen! I'm afraid of failure. I'm afraid of taking the first steps, and I dont know how to go about setting up my idea. How do I gt over my fear, and start doing the things? Can anyone recommend any good, practical books or offer some advice? Cheers!

If you have a dream, do it. If you do not have the finances right now start small, get your business license and register your name! you could try the american express open card for your expenses that way you can build your business small instead of taking a loan at an uncertain period. Good luck!

What kind of business are you opening. There are tons of resources out there. Maxell is a good author for motivation.

if you don't have the finances to do it, don't do it. the average lifetime for a new business is like 2 months. If you're afraid of failure...statistically this isn't gonna help.

Well I have some great advice... Don't ask for advice. I'm a twenty year old college student and I'm on my way, in the next two-four months, to starting two small businesses. And the only thing you need to do is engage... you have the internet, you know where to find books, there are organizations that will help you get the information you need... remember when you start a small business no-one but you will work for your money... so if you have the passion there are way's to getting what you want. Just remember if you know it's a good idea... push for it, the only thing is... "It takes money to make money"
