I have an idea for a promotion for a sports team that I would love to set into motion, how do i go about this?

I have an idea for a promotion for a sports team that I know will be successful because I have seen it done before and I want to incorporate a radio station... I just don't know how to go about making it happen. How do I propose it to the team and radio station? How do I ensure that I will be a part of it and that my idea will not be taken?
