Payment Gateway for accepting credit and debit cards from customers in US, UK, Canada and Australia?
Im putting a business website through which i will be targeting customers in USA, UK, Canada and Australia. I will be accepting credit and debit cards online from customers through a payment gateway. Can anyone suggest any good secure but cheap payment gateway provider except Paypal that would enable me to accept credit and debit cards from people of these countries?I dont want to pay the monthly fees as i cannot afford it now .Though im okay with a onetime setup fee. I esp need to accept American Express, Discover, Visa and Mastercard. Also I need to know whether i need only a payment gateway for this or whether i need a merchant account too? Thanks!

You need both a gateway (that is what hooks to the shopping cart) and a merchant account. Most companies won't charge a setup fee to get a merchant account. Here is a company that has no setup fees and charges $10 per month for the gateway. Fill out their form and they will send the application docs and information. www ...
