What is the best overall ecommerce solution for a small online store?

My wife has been using resources from my work (I own my own biz) to assist her with her site. We had some turnover and now my wife needs the ability to have more control over her site content, what she's selling, etc. She's not versed in graphic design, html, etc. And one of my main concerns other than a slick web builder tool (necessity) is payment processing.
