Question
Point Of Sale (POS) Software Problems. Any Recommendations?
A friend's small restaurant is running POS software from Micros Systems. Micros is a large company, but the software is plagued by recurring problems and Micros has exorbitant fees for support. I'm considering KreaPOS Hospitality (Kreatech) and ezPower Restaurant (Denver Research). Which gives better bang for the buck, or would you suggest something else?

Most PoS that I've worked with are all proprietary and plagued with problems. The only suggestion I truly have is find out which one will provide you support for free or is added in the yearly package. Also look for hidden fees such as Remote Desktop assistance and charging for email assistance.

I work for a web-based pos company call Halo. It might be a good fit for your friend. We are about 50% less than traditional point of sale. We have a low monthly subscription fee that includes support services, all upgrades and IT management. Currently, it is $59 a month per terminal. All your friend would need to buy is the hardware (which can be leased). Anyway, it's worth checking us out: www ...
