Question

Does anyone pay attention to those annoying flashing ads?

It has come to the point where they are just a blur in my peripheral vision. I still hate them. Does anyone pay any attention to them?

nope..... in 6-7yrs of knocking together websites, and trying to earn a couple of extra £££'s / $$$'s out of them, I've never made a single penny out of banner adverts, that kind or otherwise (e.g. the traditional sort of online advertising offered by the likes of CJ.com)......... that's why I mostly use GOOGLE ADSENSE + Amazon Associates instead.

Well I don't but companies only make them because if some people buy their products then they will do more advertisement. I wonder how it would be like in Las Vegas with all thos flashy casinos...

It doesn't matter what the marketing method, the principle is the same. Here it is: "It doesn't matter who you upset. It only matters who you sell." With just about every marketing method, there are going to be people who don't like it. In this case, it's flashing ads. Common sense should tell you that if these companies weren't making a profit with these flashing ads, they wouldn't keep paying to display them. If they can be profitable with a click rate of 1 click for every 1,000 views, then that means that 999 out of every 1,000 people who see the flashing ad are NOT going to respond. There's a good percentage of those people that are turned off by the flashing ads. But in the end the only one that matters is the 1 that liked it, and responded.
