Question

How do you find suppliers for small businesses?

I have wanted to open several businesses and always get hung up on where to get the inventory. My latest desire is a Wine Store, I know where to get the wine, but any ideas on suppliers for the other stuff (glasses, corks, pourers, books, racks, etc)?

Usually a food distributor in your area- US Foods is popular nation wide and my parents use them for food and plates- will have a catalog that has all those supplies available for restaurants and other businesses. Ask around in your area and find out who is the cheapest. Any local restaurant or business with these items can recommend a supplier. Just shop around for the best deal. If you don't like any one then try going to an auction or the flea market. They can have some awesome deals and sometimes are quite cheap.

There are wholesale supply lists out there you can purchase reasonally cheaply that are very reliable, or try doing a search for free "wholesale lists" or "distributors". I found these lists simply with doing a Google search! www ... www ... Another method you might try is contacting another wine store and ask them who their distributor is.
