Question

What is the easiest retail credit card to get approved for?

I have one judgment (paid), and two older collections (paid), a secured installment loan, and one credit card with a low limit. Never been late on the last two. I am trying to establish a good mix of credit. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck with the retail cards.

I would avoid 'retail' credit cards altogether. They have extremely high interest rates-- and lots of hidden fees. You might consider a credit card designed for poor / no credit here: www ... While these credit cards have slightly higher interest rates (and additional fees) when compared to 'standard' credit cards-- they're much cheaper than a store / retail card. Plus, they'll allow you to build and improve your credit history over time. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

In our part of the country, jewelry stores, like Harry Ritchies have notoriously easy qualifications for credit. Also Les Schwab, the tire company. Typically any retailer that specializes in a product and uses a finance company to assist clients in purchasing their product would be a good place to start.

La Curacao in Los Angeles area. JCPenney is pretty easy too.
