Question
Prepaid Credit Cards?
Is there any prepaid credit cards that is RELOADABLE, and WILL INCREASE/BUIL your credit at the same time? I've tried prepaid VISA and a few others, but they were not reloadable. If I get a credit card from Orchard,Imagine Visa or so, do they require information from my job? I work, but since I am a exotic dancer,I only make $ money. Will I be able to apply for one of those credit cards still,as long as I deposit money on it and deposit money on a checking card as well? HOW LEGIT IS ANSWER/OPTION #5 BY: JOE S. ????

Greendot is reloadable...www.greendotgetmygreen.com I don't know if it will build your credit or not...but I use it for all purchases on line...if my number was stolen they wouldn't get much off the card and it won't ruin my credit.

greendot is reloadable. But NO prepaid card will rebuild/affect yoru credit...since you are not being extended credit on them. You need to get a secured card from orchard bank or wells fargo..which you depoist $300.00 in one of their accounts..then they give you a credit card to use with the credit limit of up up to that amount you deposit. Those cards WILL help build credit. Good luck.

Hi! Get a real credit card from the likes of orchard bank or bank of america. While it is true most prepaids do not build credit..there are those that have credit builder programs..which may or may not "work". All the ones I've seen are just too fee-crazy to recommend to a sane person. I cannot recommend imagine for several reasons. Understand that imagine will draft your account for your payments..I don't trust them to do that. Do a search and you may find the same horror stories about imagine. Their customer service is horrible and I have found several stories where they flat out denied applications or drafted the checking account after three months. Unacceptable. I don't trust them. You should not either.

You know, often if you have never had a card companies like CapitalOne will often just give you a one. Yes it will only have a $300.00 limit and have a huge rate but it is a jump over the secured thing. Most of the prepaids will not contribute toward building credit. A secured card is the way to go. Many regular banks offer a secured card which is better than doing it on the net. So call around and once you find one that offers this open an account with them.

Though prepaid credit cards resemble debit credit cards a lot, the two are vastly different. When you use debit cards for any purchase, your shopping will be automatically debited from your bank account. On other hand, the purchases made with prepaid cards are deducted from the balance present on the card. The prepaid cards offer various benefits like: Interest-free purchases People with a bad credit history are eligible to apply for a credit card. The credit limit varies according to the balance available on the card.

Prepaid credit card uses Not only can a prepaid card enable customers who find it hard to get credit, but this type of card can help you take control of your finances, if you have found normal credit card interest rates too high and the balance offered too tempting. You can be confident that you will stick to your budget with a pre-paid card, as you are the one who sets it by deciding how much to top-up your card with! Most prepaid credit cards can enable you to: No longer have to carry cash when shopping Use an ATM to withdraw money - at home and abroad Transfer funds - send money to other cardholders Shop on the internet with security Top up your mobile phone Have an additional prepaid credit card for family use - useful for a teenager for emergency use (usually 13 years plus for a named card holder).
