Question

Credit Cards - Best Rewards for me?

I have one credit card that I have had for about a year and a half and have never missed a payment. I would like to cancel it and get a new card that has rewards for places I shop. My main interest is electronics, ie computers, cameras, video games, etc. Stores would be CompUSA, Best Buy, Circuit City, Apple Store, amazon.com, Gamestop, EB Games, the list goes on. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Most reward credit cards allow you to earn bonuses everywhere you shop. The Chase Freedom Card is a perfect example-- and it's very flexible. You can earn up to 3% cash back-- or 3 points for every $1 you spend. Get cash back, or redeem points for your choice of rewards. You can find this and other reward credit cards here: www ... Of course, you could go for a specific store credit card (like Best Buy or Circuit City), but you'll pay extremely HIGH interest rates. Plus, you won't have the flexibility to earn as many rewards-- unless you shop specifically at one location. My suggestion: Compare more 'generic' reward cards so you can earn rewards everywhere you shop. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

To see which rewards card will pay you the most rewards for your spending profile, you can use the rewards calculator at: www ... You just enter how much you spend in various categories like "Computer and Electronic Stores", "Gas Stations", "Restaurants", etc., and the tool figures out how much you'll earn in rewards from each of the various rewards cards. Note that it'll also calculate the best combinations of cards for your spending profile in case you find it's worth it to manage more than one card for the extra rewards.

It depends on how you use the credit card. If you use it for credit, follow the first guys recommendations - but call them and ask what can they offer you? If nothing, then shop around. If you pay your balance every month, definately go for an American Express Points card. And then use it for everything, everywhere. Stop using your debit card. And by the end of the year you could earn $1000 in gift certificates from top retailers. You do have to pay $90 a year for the card, but it's sooo worth it!
