credit card business
When a business accepts debit cards for purchases do they get credit transaction fees?
Question
what's better? accepting checks, or credit cards over the internet?
I'm starting a new business on the internet. I'm used to accepting checks, but haven't tried accepting checks over the Internet. Any thoughts on that? Can you refer any good check processing providers?

Although credit card processing is a major payment mode for Internet transactions, check processing is increasing in popularity. According to NACHA(National Automated Clearing House Association), Internet initiated check processing grew to 1.4 billion payments, and you gotta admit, that's a pretty big number(imagine if you can get just 1% of that!). Credit cards are still a safe bet (and shoppers like them for security and convenience purposes), but check processing can allow you to widen your customer base(a lot of people still don't have credit cards, only checking accounts), and if you want to earn more money for your business, then provide both check and credit card processing. There are a million check processing providers (merchant accounts) on the Internet, you can check out: www ... www ... Providing alternative modes of payment to your customers can be a great benefit, for your customers - convenience, and for you - profit, and who doesn't want extra money these days, eh? Hope I was able to help!

Use PayPal as a secure payment option instead of cheques since it would be difficult or impossible to follow up on an international bounced check.

Use Pay Pal.. setting up an account is easy and it is safe, not to mention free (other than the small fee they charge for credit cards).
