Question

Financial worries.?

Financial worries.? I am working in a Recreation Center and am trying to consolidate my bills. I have a mortagage, credit card bills, student loans, a dog and weekly living expences. I wondered if someone could give me some advice on the best way to go about doing in all? Thank you very much for any help received.

I have placed this in the source box. There is a wealth of information there and a great free debt management software program. I bookmarked the site as I return to it often for the advice it offers. I hope this helps you.

Try to pay off all your high interest credit cards first, as your mortgage interest is tax deductible. Good luck.

Only if you give me your income is the key ? By the way I am a financial adviser . May be you should see one and no disrespect to you .

I would definitely attempt to correct the problem myself and seek assistance from a financial advisor only as a last resort. I did that once and they wanted so much for their fee;;;if I could have afforded an additional payment each month, I wouldn't need their services to begin with.! At least sit down with your bills in front of you and figure out exactly what you owe. I would try really hard to take care of any high interest credit cards first, as you could be attached to them literally "forever" Try figuring out a budget and stick to it faithfully. Be sure to allow enough for yourself to live on from paycheck to paycheck so you do not end up "borrowing" from one of your payments and becoming further behind. You may end up having to take on something extra for additional income....perhaps tutoring someone in something that you are good at? Giving lessons in something? What ever you can do to make a little extra without over extending yourself too much. Maybe you even have some unwanted items that you could sell to pay something off. If this all fails, you may need some type of professional assistance..perhaps through your mortgage company in a home equity consolidation loan. Explore all of your options...but start with your own skills first. Best wishes.

As a mortgage broker from Edmonton, Alberta my advice would be to refinance your mortgage and consolidate your debts. this way you can have just one monthly payment that you can dictate depending on the amortization of your mortgage. I can help you if you are in Alberta Canada, there's really no point in having equity in your home if you can't afford to live.
