Getting a personal loan from a friend to help me pay credit cards off will I have to claim it on taxes next year

It depends on how you drew up the contract, if you did at all. I recommend making a contract to protect both of you. For your friend, of course so he/she can get the money back and plus the interest. And for you, so you can get the credit. You guys should really think how to do this.
