I live in California. I will be taking the exam for Real Estate Broker next month.?
I want to know exactly what can I do with my new Broker's license? Can I work for more than one company? Can I start my own business right away? Can I buy a franchise? Can I work as a Broker without being affiliated with anyone else?

The answer is "yes" to every question. I started my own company and currently have real estate agents working for me and I was never an agent nor did I have experience in this line of work before getting my broker's license. Regards

If you are getting a broker's license, you can have your own company-- but there will be startup costs involved. You've been an agent for a few years, right? Talk to the company you work for and find out if they do anything or have any programs. If you havent been an agent, then you aren't getting your broker's license.
