3% on each end

I read that 3% on each end remark. This is not true. When a real estate agent lists a property, the seller and agent agree on a commission. Usually, half the commission would be for the buyer's agent that brings a ready, willing, and able buyer as well as completely representing the buyer's best interest. There is absolutely no set commission rate and it's actually illegal for agents to say, "we all get x commission" because commission is negotiable. You're asking about much Texas real estate agents make? This question actually applies to any real estate agent. They make as much as they earn. Some agent work part-time (dangerous to work with a part-time agent) and some work full-time. Some agents sell one house a month and some sell 10 a month. Pay varies so widely that it's a difference between being an unsuccessful agent with no sales to a successfull agent with an unlimited ceiling of sales. In summary, there is no limit, as is the case in many sales professions.
