Where can I find a prepaid reloadable, personal(with name embossed)Visa/Mastercard with no ID or SSN required.
I'm looking for a prepaid, reloadable Visa or Mastercard for a friend/relative who will be visiting/traveling in the US for a few months, so that she does not have to carry a lot of cash around, as well as so that she can shop online, over the phone & mail order as & when she wants. I'm going to put a certain amount on the card for her, and after that she will reload the card with money as and when needed as long as she's in the US. She has no other credit/debit cards & otherwise she'd be stuck only using cash or traveler's checks. I want to give her this card to use while she's here, but I don't know her SSN (or if she even has one or not) & since its a gift, I can't really ask. So anyone know where I can find an "anonymous" prepaid reloadable Visa or Mastercard that I can get personalized (with the name engraved on it) and MOST IMPORTANTLY, that does not require any SSN or ID?? Thanks but Greendot REQUIRES a SSN, and I do NOT need it to rebuild credit, just to give as a gift card, so the unsecured card (which also REQUIRES SSN and ID) isn't useful either. It seems that what you seek is a Visa gift card. Here is the direct website for them. It further seems that The Visa Travel Money Card may serve her needs better but it will require her presence at purchase. So far as I could tell on the site, neither may have the option to emboss her name. You will have to enquire further to ask for whether it is possible to get that option.

I used greendot visa, I bought it from walgreens. Your name is included on the card and you'll receive it in the mail in 7-10 days. I recently went to USBank and got a secured credit card. You can use it just like an unsecured credit, your limit depends on how much money you place in the account. Just practice good spending habits and pay account in full each month it'll rebuild your credit.
