Step 10:  Accept and manage your orders

When orders come in, you'll be able to view customer contact information, shipping and billing information, special handling instructions, payment method, and order details in the Order Management section of the Store Control Panel.

Merchant Account Transactions
If you're working with a merchant account you can use the Order Management screens to process your orders online with a few clicks of a mouse. Our clear, intuitive order management interface makes it easy to authorize, reauthorize, and settle shipped orders or process refunds.

Accept Orders via Your Own Servers
If you have a larger operation with your own payment processing gateway and/or an extensive distribution system, you can receive orders real-time, via your own servers. Once this information has been handed off to your servers, it can be fed to your payment processing gateway for authorization, your accounting and inventory systems to enable centralized management, or to your warehouse or drop-shipper for fulfillment.

Note: Many merchants who receive orders by phone, fax, or email choose to enter these types of orders manually into their Yahoo! Merchant Solutions order form (available in the Store Control Panel), so that they can easily track, process, and report on all of their sales, regardless of how the order comes in.

Deter and Detect Fraudulent Transactions
Yahoo! Merchant Solutions builds in multiple levels of fraud protection and arms you with information so you can identify suspect transactions. For more information see "Avoiding Fraudulent Orders" in our Help section.

Easily Contact Customers
Should you need to contact customers about their orders, you can always return to your order management screens in the Store Control Panel, look up an order, and easily email or call the person who placed it.

When you run into occasional request to return an item, you can quickly issue a refund - at your discretion - using the same order management system.
