Prepare to accept online
payments. |
In order to open for business, you need to add an online payment
processing service to your online store. You may use a PayPal account, a merchant account, or
both to accept payments online.*
- Accept credit, debit, and bank transfer payments with PayPal.

PayPal offers a quick,
easy way to process online payments. PayPal is ideal for new online merchants or as an
additional payment option for established merchants. You can sign up for a PayPal account in
just three easy steps and get approved in less than 24 hours. Unlike a merchant account,
PayPal offers a solution with no monthly fees or setup charges. PayPal does charge fees for
your transactions.
- Accept credit card transactions with a merchant account.
A
merchant account is a bank account that enables you to accept credit card payments online.
This option is ideal for more established merchants who expect to process many transactions
each month. If you don't have a merchant account, you can apply online with our partner,
Paymentech. Paymentech will notify you in one to three business days if your application has
been accepted.
- Use an existing merchant account on your store site.
If
you already have a merchant account that's compatible with the First Data Services Nashville
platform, you can use it to accept credit card transactions on your store.
