    Malloy announces 5 Conn. firms to receive grants

    HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Five more Connecticut small businesses are set to receive financial assistance through the state's new Small Business Express Program.

    Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Thursday that American Municipal Tax-Exempt Compliance Corp. in Avon is receiving a $100,000 grant for site acquisition and working capital.

    Mandragore, LLC, an Old Greenwich business and technology firm, is receiving a $250,000 job incentive loan. Therap Services, LLC, a Waterbury electronic document services company, is receiving a $250,000 loan and $100,000 matching grant for computer equipment, employee training and marketing.

    Realgy Energy Services LL, a West Hartford energy marketer, is receiving a $59,500 grant for training and equipment. New Morning Country Store, LLC of Woodbury, an organic foods market, is receiving a $250,000 loan and $100,000 grant to help it move into a new, larger space.
