First Impressions – The Secret to Bringing People InWebsites are measured by the number of impressions. What do people think when they see your company site, blog site, Twitter id, Twitter post, Facebook post, Linkedin profile?
The items listed below are quick glances and most often initial views that people quickly take a look at and scan to see if there is further interest or not. These initial impressions are important and information needs to be viewed in such a way that it stands out.
Today, the focus is on quality content. This is important, but I am here to tell you that impressions are just important. You need to make your information stand out from the pack. You can do this several ways. Here is a list of ideas you should consider.
Review your website – Update images on your homepage. Give people a sense of who you are. Images including company assets go far to sell your site: Consider pictures of current employees, picture of your front door to building, product or service
Review your website again – Give people helpful information – Price information, Contact information, links to promotions, blog sites and social media presence
Review your website again – Do you give away brochures or offer special promotions? Most companies don’t. You can be like most companies or you can be different. Put these promotions on the Home page, not buried in your site.
Linkedin – Arrange the information on your Linkedin page that is different than your competitors on your company and personal profile. Add documents, videos and other media to your profile. Keep it simple. No need to list all of your course work from 20 years ago on your profile. What are you doing now?
Facebook – Company Page – Consider adding a link to your blog site. Ask questions. Link to an article that hits people in the heart and shows your compassion. Sometimes these type of posts can show that your company is a caring company.
Twitter – Be excited. Use exciting words. Tell people how you thought their post was amazing.
One last website tip – Add new content to your site on a regular basis. A blog is a great way to achieve this. New, fresh ideas are want your readers want.
Make some impressions today by being more passionate about your clients and your services. Give people a reason to keep coming back to your site. Analyze your impressions and hits and look at your bounce rate to see how long people are statying on your site. In addition, get a feel for your site by looking at your total impressions. If this number is trending downward over a period of time (6 months to 1 year) , it may be a sign that you need to look at your site a little closer and make some changes.
