When I order something online can I have the post office leave it at the post office for me to pick up?
I want to do this instead of having them deliver it to my place.10 months ago - 3 answers
Yes, have the item sent as General Delivery to the closest post office outside your current zip code. USPS won't allow general delivery to your local post office. Use the words GENERAL DELIVERY, uppercase preferred, spelled out (no abbreviation), as the Delivery Address Line on the mail piece.

Yes. You would have to notify your carrier, in writing, that you do not want packages that do not fit in the mailbox left at the residence.

Depending on your daily routine and the location of your post office it might be better for you to pick-up your package. You do not want to waste a day of your life sitting at home waiting for mail carrier to bring your package. That's boring.
Just make sure you request a track and confirmation number so you can follow the package on your mobile device from their office to your local post office.
