As a front desk at a hotel worker If a phone is ringing, a guest is waiting for their room key, and co-worker needs your help what do you do first, second, and last? And why?
The person in front of you is priority. They are your customers and repeat business is important.
If you ignore them, they may not come again.
The phone then is the priority as this is potential customer and then the staff member.

The co-worker can wait. And a person on the phone can be put on hold.
