So, what about the mountainous areas of Montana?
crime, drug or meth problems?
What is your favorite place?
No sales tax in Montana, thus property taxes are a bit high to compensate.
Crime is about average. Meth is a problem. Drinking and driving is a problem.
Water quality is OK on city systems. Many homes are on a private well, so the quality can range from good to quite poor.
Note: air quality is often a problem in Montana from wood-burning stoves in the winter, slash-pile burning in the spring and fall, and forest fires in the summer.
Montana is generally business friendly.
Missoula or Bozeman (Bozeman is more expensive). Both are university towns with great "out-door", recreational, and natural scenery benefits.
Best wishes and good luck.
