Small business owners get a paycheck if their self-employed?

The business I am thinking of starting requires only me to operate it and was wondering as the owner plus being the only employee able to receive a paycheck?

It depends upon on how your business is organized.

If it is a Sole Proprietorship or Partnership; No. You do not draw a paycheck but you can take cash as you need it.

If it is a Corporation, Yes, you must put your self on payroll. You would draw a paycheck like every other employee.
